Critical Design Review

Our Critical Design Review at DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen was a crucial event for us. This was the moment to find out whether our experiment is on the right track. Some weeks before we submitted our Student Experiment Documentation. One of the most important part are the requirements, which we have to satisfy. We presented them in front of a panel.

The presentation went well. The jurors gave us zum ideas as well as duties to improve out design. It was helpful to learn from the panel discussion, too. By now we received a detailed feedback – we received a conditional pass, which means that our experiment design is included with reservations. Amongst other things we have to make improvements on our manual.

All in all the week in Oberpfaffenhofen was a great and interesting experience. Our engineer Kay absolved a manual soldering course, so he is now certified in soldering highly reliability electronical components.

The reunion with the other teams that participate at the REXUS/BEXUS programme was a pleasure as well. The excursion of Kloster Andechs was a perfect end of the week.
